As the obligatory ballad, "The Breath of Gloria" has all the required musical devices to make it effective - a solid chord progression in the verse that emphasizes the iv in the pre-chorus, the delay of the first chorus before the second verse, a faster bridge in a new key, and the standard double-chorus at the end, which modulates a whole step.
